About

Using social media to monitor public discussion of science controversies

Understanding trends in public attitudes to science and technology issues is important for effective science communication. This research is investigating the use of monitoring of online public discussion to look for geographical and temporal changes in attitudes to science and technology.

An outline of the project is available on the Diffusion blog An Atlas of Now, and was presented at the Australian Science Communicators Conference, February 2010.
