About

This project is interested in how science heroes are constructed in the public imagination, and their impacts on society.

Travelling throughout Australia, North America and the United Kingdom, researcher Bobby Cerini has to date recorded interviews with more than 90 highly influential and inspirational people, many of them household names.

The project investigates many aspects of people's experiences, including who they regard as their heroes and why, and the impacts such heroes have had on the lives of others. It also explores notions of success in science and technology, and the costs and benefits of rising to prominence in the public eye.
