Gain real-world science communication experience through an internship at one of Australia’s leading science organisations. CPAS offers some pre-arranged placements, or you can work with the convenor to arrange a placement with a host of your choice.

Geological Society of Australia 

Redevelop geological excursion guides for Canberra outcrops for late primary and early high school students, and design a strategy to reach teachers.

Science & Technology Australia

Help build a public video library of Acknowledgements of Country from STEM leaders, including content framework design, workflow drafting, and video editing support.

Journal of Science Communication (JCOM) 

Audit social media analytics, build JCOM's LinkedIn presence, and explore new channels connecting researchers and practitioners with the latest scicomm research.

Refraction Media

Create social media content across TikTok, LinkedIn and Instagram; write 350-word STEM career articles; and learn editorial workflows, SEO and audience analytics. Summer placement (Jan–Feb), remote-friendly.
