This research project aims to ascertain the state of science writing and its authors, encompassing research questions like:

• Are science communicators, especially science writers, qualified and knowledgeable enough about science to be writing about it?
• What sources do science writers utilise, and what what preferences do they have?
• Do science writers of different mediums focus on using different sources? 
• What, if any, are the differences between blogging science writers and their non-blogging counterparts?
