A science writer by trade, Oliver began his journey in science communication at the University of New South Wales. From there, he was invited to intern with COSMOS Magazine, and ultimately became a regular member of staff. Since leaving COSMOS in early 2014 to pursue further study at the Australian National University, he has written his own blog, hosted a science news podcast, and is a regular contributor to the Woroni's science section. His research interests are many, and include science in the media, science journalism, and the effect of science fiction on public perceptions and interest in science.
