About

Responsible innovation seeks to comprehensively enhance diverse facets of the innovation process, covering research, development, decision-making and commercialisation, with the overarching goal of improving societal, economic, and environmental impacts.

However, current research on responsible innovation often overlooks the practical challenges of commercialisation, hindering the translation of responsible innovation principles into effective business management strategies. This research gap is critical as the majority of innovation occurs within the private sector.

Our research aims to bridge this gap by investigating the effective implementation of responsible innovation in medium to large organisations in the mobility sector, specifically focusing on electric and autonomous vehicles. We will explore the unique challenges and opportunities in this industry across multiple countries/jurisdictions to develop actionable management strategies that enhance innovation quality and their broader economic, social, and environmental footprint.
