On 17 June 2020, PCST organized a webinar for people interested in teaching of science communication at Masters’ and PhD level.

They invited a panel of experts to share their ideas about the potential of setting up a network or interest group on this topic.

The webinar resulted from a workshop, originally planned to take place at the PCST 2020 conference, that was the initiative of Dr Luisa Massarani.

A recording of this webinar is now available at https://youtu.be/UNgQ0OegKH8

The session was chaired by Professor Joan Leach, with hosting by Dr Jenni Metcalfe.

The speakers were:

Dr Melanie Smallman: Learning from past experience with the European Network of Science Communication Teachers (ENSCOT)

Dr Frans van Dam: Interests, preferences and concerns of science communication lecturers regarding a network – brief feedback from current research

Dr Elizabeth Stevenson: The business model for MSc programmes in science communication in the UK – a driver for excellence

Dr Luisa Massarani: The need and potential for such a network – A perspective from Latin America

Dr Marina Joubert: The value of expert input when setting up a new master’s programme in science communication

Future webinars on this topic will be announced via the PCST discussion list.
