CPAS Professor Sue Stocklmayer and friend of CPAS Professor Leonie Rennie have published a book chapter on the topic of how science communication and science education can usefully inform each other to their mutual advantage. The chapter is included in a new book entitled Preparing Informal Science Educators, edited by Patricia G. Patrick.

In this chapter, Stocklmayer and Rennie examine these fields and identify their salient characteristics, to shape a framework that draws out the skills and knowledge required for successful communication. This framework is intended to guide informal science educators to become more effective communicators of science.
