Science Communication in the Canberra Community, October 2024
With assistance from the ACT Government under the Community Zero Emissions Grants Program, Dr Graham Walker will be running a series of community events and related research on Canberra’s inspiring energy transition and climate change action:
It’s Electrifying (family science show) at Libraries ACT
Can I power my slot-car set with tiny humans? Is a solar-powered dragracer a good idea for indoor use? And where can I charge my Hoverboard? Canberra households and vehicles are going electric, and Dr Graham has been busy in the GarageLabTM working on new, improved and much more electrifying experiments.
Through amazing, interactive, fun, and sometimes explosive science demonstrations we’ll learn how fuels like natural gas can be replaced with electricity, plus discover groovy new low-emission high-fun tech like electric skateboards. Recommended for families with children aged 6-14 (but super for all ages).
