Research Fellow - Applications Open
The Position
With the support of the ANU and the UNESCO Regional Office (Jakarta), CPAS is launching a major four-year program of work under the auspices of a UNESCO Chair on Science Communication for the Public Good. The Research Fellow will support the work of the Chair by undertaking collaborative research, stakeholder engagement and knowledge-exchange. Working closely with the Chair-holder (Sujatha Raman), the CEO (Rod Lamberts) and other key members of the team, they will help develop internationally engaged work on the conditions under which science can contribute to global public good. The Research Fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to novel work on imaginative ways of connecting and communicating across often deep divides in knowledge and practice, and between social, economic and environmental perspectives on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Person
To excel in this role you will have:
- A PhD in Science Communication, Science and Technology Studies or a related field
- Track record of high-quality publications appropriate to stage of career
- Ability to deliver high-quality research in science/technology, democratic communication and global challenges of sustainable development
- Ability to engage with scientists and wider stakeholders in conducting and communicating research
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Public and/or policy roles of science and expertise in transnational context
- Science, technology, environmental change, equity and global justice
- Global challenges and responsible innovation or transformative innovation
- Energy transition and the energy/materials nexus; Environment/health nexus
