About

I am a PhD Candidate at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at The Australian National University.

My PhD research focuses on "calls to action" by conservation scientists and how this type of communication is used to influence policy.

Having worked as a science communicator for more than 15 years, I am interested in the role of scientists as public experts and advocates. I have observed growing frustration in the conservation science community - questioning why their advice often fails to influence political agendas or environmental decision making.

My supervision panel:

  • Associate Professor Fabien Medvecky (Primary supervisor, ANU)
  • Dr Jasper Montana (ANU)
  • Professor Sarah Bekessy (University of Melbourne)
