About

I am a PhD Candidate at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at the Australian National University. My Phd research focuses on the intersection of fan culture and science communication in social media driven contexts. As social media science and DIY edutainment become increasingly influencial in society, this research seeks to understand how our fannish relationships to creators as science communicators shapes popular science discourse. CPAS's ability to support my work through cultural, ethical, and STS lenses alongside the bottomless enthusiasm the Centre has for all of its researchers has made it the perfect home for this project.

My research panel is led by Associate Professor Fabien Medvecky (ANU), with additional supervision from Dr Dan Santos (ANU) and Dr Samantha Vilkins (QUT).
