Dr Sarah Keenihan is a PhD candidate at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at ANU, looking at science-society relations with a focus on South Australia's 2025/26 harmful algal bloom as an illustrative case study.
She is an experienced science writer, and previously Science and Technology Editor and Biomedical Sciences Editor at The Conversation Australia.
Sarah holds a PhD in Reproductive Immunology (The University of Adelaide) and a Graduate Diploma in Sciences Communication (Central Queensland University). She was a postgraduate research fellow at NAMRU-2 infectious diseases research unit in Jakarta Indonesia, and a researcher at The University of Adelaide.
Sarah is a member of the Environment Institute Advisory Board at Adelaide University, and a member of the Environment Advisory Committee for Surf Life Saving SA.
