Dr William Lai is a lecturer and research in science, communication, and science communication. 

In Hong Kong, he teaches undergraduates and postgraduates in academic subjects including Biology, Creative and Critical Thinking, Food Safety Management, Health Communication, Managing Soccer Clubs in a Globalized World, Science and the Media, Scientific Research Methods, and Science Communication. In his spare time, he also instructs children from 8 to 17 years in creative arts and soccer refereeing.

In 2011, William was awarded the Australian Endeavour Executive Award in recognition of raising the awareness of science communication in Hong Kong. He spent a fruitful 6 months at CPAS and has subsequently helped establish CPAS’ Masters of Science Communication programme in Hong Kong.
