About

Jacqui has completed her PhD research with the supervision of Dr Will Grant and Professor Simone Dennis from the School of Anthropology. She graduated from Deakin University with First Class Honours in 2012, having majored in Politics, Policy Studies and Journalism during her undergraduate years.

Her study was entitled ‘You need to shut up: Research silencing and what it reveals about academic freedom.'

Jacqui investigated the ways research and researchers' ability to ask questions can be constrained by polarised or hostile environments and what this means for the construction of knowledge.
