Each year, students in our Science Communication and the Web course work on personal or group projects to bring science to life online.

Two students, Shani Horrii-Watson and Jessica Holley, made short, fun Facebook videos looking at the science of napping — for adults who miss nap time.

Shani Horii-Watson had never been in front of a camera before the project. "It definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone," said Ms Horii-Watson.

"I loved learning about all the stages of content creation from research and planning to filming, editing and marketing."

Ms Holley said, “I loved the challenge of creating short, engaging videos based off scientific research.

"There was lots of scope to get creative!

"I enjoyed the whole process, but my favourite part was distilling the scientific content into a video script that catered to our audience.”
