While discussing ethics in the doing of science communication might result in ethical principles guiding behaviour, what about the ethics of science communication itself? What if science communicating isn’t the Good Thing we believe it to be?
CPAS Director Professor Joan Leach and collaborator Dr Fabien Medvecky from the University of Otago raise these issues in an editorial for a special issue of JCOM on the ethics of science communication.
They are also pitching to discuss these ideas with colleagues at the upcoming PCST conference in New Zealand (call for papers close on 11 Oct 2017).
