Congratulations Associate Professor Merryn McKinnon, Interim Pro Vice Chancellor Learning and Teaching
Congratulations to CPAS's Associate Professor Merryn McKinnon, who is the new Interim Pro Vice Chancellor (PVC) Learning and Teaching for ANU.
Merryn has been with CPAS since July 2012, starting as a Research Fellow. She has also served as Associate Dean (Education) of the ANU College of Science and Medicine (formerly the ANU College of Science) since January 2023.

Dr Merryn McKinnon's original degree was in marine science. This led her to the field of science communication where she has stayed ever since. She has worked and conducted qualitative and quantitative research nationally and internationally, in both non-academic and academic roles. Her research contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between science, media and publics. She also explores the influence of equity, inclusion and intersectionality in STEM, especially STEM communication.
Merryn’s focus will be on advancing learning and teaching, applying data to guide improvement and strengthening work underway to position ANU at the forefront of AI in education. Congratulations Merryn, we are looking forward to your bringing your extensive experience and her contributions across curricula, Academic Board and various ongoing University projects to your new role.
