Subject:
What’s Mine Really Mine?: Re-Imagining Resource Ownership and Control through Post-Apocalyptic Fiction
About the speaker:
Cara Doherty has an LLB in Law with European Legal Studies from King's College London, with sub-specialisations in Swiss and Russian Law. After a short but unsatisfying stint as a corporate lawyer, she returned home to complete an LLM in Law, Governance and Development at the ANU and work on a science-fiction manuscript. Through her passion for genre, particularly post-apocalyptic fiction, Carta noticed threads of commonalities with the legal theories she had encountered. Currently she is in her final year as a PhD Candidate exploring the intersection of legal philosophy and post-apocalyptic fiction, focusing on ownership, control of land and distribution of resources.
