RegisterDescription
On behalf of the STS@ANU network, we’re thrilled to invite ANU-based participants to this free event focused on feminist science and technology studies (STS) and artificial intelligence. We will be engaging with the work of Professor Emerita Lucy Suchman (Lancaster University), who has written extensively on human-computer interactions, artificial intelligence and contemporary militarism. We are especially delighted and privileged to be able to have Professor Suchman join us for a live conversation. This event is organized by the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) and the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS).
The event will appeal to those who have a specific interest in artificial intelligence from a social perspective, along with those who have an interest in broader concepts and debates in the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS).
The event will have two parts:
- A series of discussions focussed on two readings written by Professor Suchman (in-person only)
- A conversation with Professor Suchman about the readings, and broader issues in STS and AI (Zoom)
Please note: this event is only open to ANU-based staff, students and faculty. Attendance is open for one or both parts of the event.
