The aim of this project is primarily to identify the online and offline information-seeking trends among Australian women and how these influence their decision to undergo this largely elective surgery (and their general outlook in life post-surgery). Consequently, this study hopes to identify whether there are any socio-economic and/or geographical factors and characteristics suggesting a digital divide between the users that may affect the quality of information they receive. It is hoped that by identifying these trends and factors, a more realistic, holistic and streamlined approach could be implemented for communicating hysterectomy information to Australian women.
