Up Stream (2014)

Up Stream is a documentary film about the communication of complex science.

It was produced by CPAS PhD student Luke Menzies, CPAS Lecturer Dr Will J. Grant, and filmmaker Daniel Hunter. Luke Menzies also directed the film, and co-presented it with Will Grant.

The film features interviews with scientists and science communicators about the nature of science and the sociopolitical contexts in which science enters the public domain via science communication. It discusses solutions to apparent stalemates in public debates about crucial scientific issues, such as climate change, by looking back at past successes of science communication, and forward to radical and innovative approaches to science communication including upstream dialogue events.

Up Stream was launched on Thursday April 10th 2014, at the CSIRO Discovery Centre.
