CPAS established the Sandpaw blog in 2010 to give undergraduate science communication students a venue for posting science communication videos, graphics and other interesting items to share with their colleagues.

Since then many students have also posted some of their assignments on Sandpaw, including blog posts completed in SCOM1001 Science Communication 1, and research reports completed in SCOM2003 Science in Popular Fiction and SCOM3003 Special Topics in Science Communication.

Some Sandpaw blog posts have received hundreds of views from people across the world, and/or have made the top pages of Google searches for their topics.
