The biggest focus of science communication practice is science outreach: activities that place science in the public arena for discussion, dialogue, debate and entertainment. The roots of CPAS are in outreach activities, through the early days of the Questacon Science Circus, and outreach has always been at the centre of what CPAS is about.

In the twenty-first century, CPAS staff and students participate in science presentations, dialogue and commentary while also teaching outreach skills to students and conducting research into improving and evaluating outreach activities. Our outreach offerings have greatly diversified in recent decades. CPAS staff and students put the theory into practice through many public activities in Australia, internationally, online and through broadcast media. Explore our outreach activities and achievements through the links on these pages.

From 2012-2014 we kept records of one off events CPAS people participated in as well as major outreach projects, and you can find those records here.
