PhD candidate Savita Sharma will tonight present her final seminar on her research.
Savita’s PhD research focuses on primary school teachers’ learning during Enrichment Programmes designed and conducted for primary students at the Science Centre Singapore. She will be sharing how in-depth methods were used to explore teachers’ learning in Enrichment Programmes. Her findings and results will reveal how Enrichment Programmes connect the teachers to science content and pedagogy to enable enquiry-based science teaching. Savita’s presentation will cover, in particular, how teachers learn from different types of knowledge communicated with the students and the science educators during the Enrichment Programmes, as well as their reflective learning based on observations of communications between the students and the science educators.
