Science Communication Research and Education Network (SCREN)

On 26-27 June 2007, the inaugural meeting of SCREN, took place at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS), at The Australian National University, Canberra.

It was agreed that a network of science communication researchers and educators should be formed as a network of special interest under ASC (Australian Science Communicators).

Those present were:

Melanie McKenzie (Econnect and UQ PhD student)

Jan Dook (UWA)

Errol Veith (CQU)

Belinda Barr (PIRSA /Grow Smart, then-secretary for ASC)

Rob Morrison (Flinders University)

Terry Burns (University of Newcastle)

Kira Mileham (University of Newcastle)

CPAS staff: Sue Stocklmayer, Rod Lamberts, Mike Gore, John Rayner, Cathy Frazer.

CPAS PhD students: Suzette Searle, Sean Perera and Bobbi Cerini.

Although not present, Lloyd Davis (Centre for Science Communication, University of Otago) has expressed an interest in joining this group.
